Garmin Vivoactive 6

Pros

• I've been looking at the vioactive 6, I like the appearance of it.
• Otherwise the Vivoactive 5 ($200) and 6 ($250) are great all around fitness watches. In my opinion, they look a little less “sports watch” than the Forerunners.
• In the end went with the VA6 since it would do everything I wanted, price, and it had just come out so was latest technology. Had the 6 for 4 or 5 months now and no complaints
• in contrast, I like the touch feeling of va6.
• I was debating between both and went with the VA6 because of the cost. I personally couldn’t say the price was worth it for the V4. I was coming from a Venu 2 and the VA6 is totally sufficient

Cons

• if he has been happy with it then the latest Vivoactive 6 or even the previous 5 version should satisfy his needs.
• VA6, the least when it comes to metrics. No barometric altitude (stairs measuring), older Elevate 4 HR sensor like the FR965, both lacking ECG (on demand) but FR965 has surplus sporting/training metrics and maps; not so on VA6 & Venu 3.
• But you can certainly buy a Vivoactive 6 and eBay the Fenix if you don't like it.
• Neither the Venu 4 nor the Vivoactive 6 have the roundtrip feature. Neither do they have onboard maps.
• VA6 & Venu 3 (my watch) very limited in this respect, hardly any useful metrics.
