Garmin Forerunner 55

Pros

• The Forerunner 55 ($150) and 165 ($200) are great entry level running watches.
• If you’re mainly into running and want simplicity with powerful features, the **Forerunner 55** hits a great price-to-performance balance.
• I am leaning towards the 55 for the smaller look, and for the lower price.
• a Forerunner 55 is a good running watch for relative beginners.
• The FR55 and the app were generally very close to one another. ... I think the FR55 is definitely worth purchasing. More info is always good, imo.

Cons

• Forerunner 55 or 165. You can compare the two and see what fits best.
• It's basically all current-gen devices except some lower-end models like the Forerunner 55 and 165
• I wouldn't buy directly from Garmin. You can find whatever watch you want much cheaper elsewhere. I made that mistake. Bought a Forerunner 55 directly through Garmin. Found it much cheaper at Best Buy, and realized the 165 was like $30 m...
• I generally never recommend the FR 55. I think that it is really just a New Year's resolution / "ambition to change life around at 3am" type of watch that inevitably will land in someone's drawer after a couple of weeks.
• 55 definitely cuts some corners and it isn't the best under tree cover or near tall buildings.
