- One day in Fukuoka is tight if you actually want to eat. The yatai are the thing, but they're just dinner. Tenjin and Ohori Park are a morning walk. You're done by noon.
- I'm second guessing whether one full day there is enough. Also going back and forth on whether to skip Yakushima entirely since we'll already have had plenty of nature in Okinawa and online they say 2 days might feel very rushed. so mayb...
- This is also maybe just my opinion, but Fukuoka is the prefecture in Kyushu I've been least impressed by -- spend more time around the other ones I think.
- Fukuoka is kinda weird there since you're only visiting the city. You could do basically the same in Nagoya without deviating from the rest of the itinerary, saving money and time.

I decided to go to Kyushu on another trip and found that I enjoyed Fukuoka and Kagoshima very much for their food, drink, and generally more talkative locals
5 nights each in Fukuoka and Kagoshima is a nice amount of time, honestly more than most people give themselves. You won't just be skimming the surface.
