Pros

  • Maybe Forest Shuffle? Less engine building, but has lots of cards that have some interesting interactions.
  • Forest Shuffle has you building out a tableau of animals and trees, a simple strategy game with lots of replayability as you try to beat your high score, and it has three expansions and a 2.0 version
  • I see what the hype is because the game was great. A simple tableau builder and then score your points. ... I quite enjoyed how you can learn in just a couple minutes and then the gameplay is all just in how you utilize your cards. ... E...
  • A recent favourite of mine is Forest Shuffle. It is a tableau building game (your tableau consists of a forest of tree cards, each of which can be surrounded by various animals, fungi and small plants) and I am addicted. It has Everdell...
  • Forest Shuffle is much more laid back and solitaire. ... I think Forest Shuffle is a perfectly pleasant game

Cons

  • Forest Shuffle was one of the first games we got but it's got less and less table time as we go. We have both expansions and sometimes we play with all the cards in and so when I think of this game, I think of the super long games that c...
  • Forest Shuffle is one of the few recent hotness games I regret getting. I can see it fitting some play groups, but for me it hits a lot of negatives. 1. The tableaus are too big... 2. The "which card do I discard" choice is not that pain...
  • I bought Forest Shuffle and it had multiple layers of seals indicating opening and resealing, I cut the seals to avoid removing them and damaging the box, and somehow a seal pulled off in my bag and ripped the box art.
  • One game of Forest Shuffle was enough for me because of the vast number of arbitrary victory point conditions.
  • Forest shuffle where you try to have synergies between trees, insects and animals

Forest Shuffle was one of the first games we got but it's got less and less table time as we go. We have both expansions and sometimes we play with all the cards in and so when I think of this game, I think of the super long games that can sometimes be a drag to think about.

Forest Shuffle is one of the few recent hotness games I regret getting. I can see it fitting some play groups, but for me it hits a lot of negatives. 1. The tableaus are too big... 2. The "which card do I discard" choice is not that painful... 3. The "simplicity" is overblown... 4. Too much adding.

Either way I loved it, bought myself a copy and a couple expansions already lol.

A recent favourite of mine is Forest Shuffle. It is a tableau building game (your tableau consists of a forest of tree cards, each of which can be surrounded by various animals, fungi and small plants) and I am addicted. It has Everdell vibes and beautiful art and is cheap to buy.

Cascadia, Harmonies, Forest Shuffle (fanmade solo mode), Quest for El Dorado (fanmade solo mode), Azul (fanmade solo mode) are all good options.
