The only thing the focal clear has over the Arya is punchier base with eq, that's it. Even the build an qc goes band for band with hifiman for how often they fail/break. Imo Arya organic is far superior
Get a Capra strap. It’s a flexible plastic/rubber head strap the clips onto the headphone and distributes the weight. It’s a lifesaver. I’ve got one for my XS and my Focal Clear.
you could try Focal Clear, pretty wide and the bass is good once properly EQ'ed and uses a dynamic driver like you wanted.

Focal Clear has fantastic sound for sure but they are not as comfortable as the Hifiman egg-shaped earcups. In fact, they stand in stark contrast, being small and in constant contact with your ears unless you have incredibly small ones.
Had similar stuff happen with my Focal Clear, LCD-1 and HE-500 too — always sucks when it happens.
And I say that owning also a pair of Focal Clear, Hifiman Arya Stealth and Fostex TH-900 MK2, so it’s not like there’s no competition. Considering their price they really punch way above their weight. And speaking of weight, they are so damn comfortable! Soundwise I really like how they don’t exaggerate anything, and that the treble is rounded off, which together with the more punchy than boomy lower end, makes them perfect for longer listening sessions.
Fiio FT1 Pro doesn't take kindly to a bass boost for example, neither do the Focal Clear or the Elex. It's not that you can't boost the bass, you just reduce the playback volume limits by doing so, because it reduces the volume threshold for driver clipping.
