Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • European brands I like: ... Fjallraven (outdoor) / sweden
  • I find Fjallraven to be quite durable
  • For that cold I would opt for something more specialized such as North face, Patagonia, Marmot, Arc'teryx, Columbia, Fjallraven, etc.
  • Fjallraven makes great jackets/parkas that last.
  • Additionally, it turns out high-end nylon hiking pants (Patagonia, Columbia, Fjallraven, etc) are 100x more durable than any natural material of the same weight, and often more durable than low-end canvas.

Cons

  • Fjallraven. Not necessarily the most fancy ones, rather the most basic. But only when on sale, otherwise pretty expensive. ... They do however dry out very fast, in like 15/20 minutes if it's a bit windy.
  • Fjallraven is king of colour, price and choice. While they also have in house repairs and a good warranty. But I don’t really like the build quality of their bags - for me at least.
  • That being said, Fjallraven lists fill weight for their down jackets. Don't come cheap, though.
  • Waxed cotton is water repellent and breathable. Barbour is the leader there. They are heavy and pack poorly. Fjallraven plays there too.

Could probably get a fjallraven if you really really want something bright blue.

Fjallraven doesn't have them in their bags.

Fjallraven for outdoor clothing and bag. Any issues with your items (defect or your own fault) and they will repair free of charge. They usually have tailors in their stores, so if you bring the items for in-store repair you can even chat with their tailor on how the repair will be done.
