Firewalla

Pros

• I'm admittedly seduced by some of the hype for stuff like Firewalla or Ubiquiti because of the assumed firewall benefits
• If you have some money to throw around and you want something that has a lot of cool features but yet it's easy to configure I would try firewalla. It's right up the same alley as this product you're looking at but with many more features.
• use a wired router there, or a basic firewall router like Firewalla, connected to a switch that feeds each room, where you now just need basic AP's, not routers.
• I like Unifi a lot, but I would recommend looking into Firewalla as it meets more of your needs (IDS, malware domain blacklisting, adguard, VLANs, etc). I use Unifi APs with my Firewalla Gold, which has been rock solid for about 5 years.
• the box is solid and very well supported (even here on reddit). It's expensive, but worth it, imo.

Cons

• depends on ones skills can use open source eg opnsense, or firewalla or a complete solution with unifi.
• I did it through a firewall, specifically the Firewalla brand.
• Hi Folks, I am looking at a Firewalla firewall which can support OpenVPN or Wireguard protocols.
• People also mention firewalla for its simplicity, but just worried it might not be as transferable to enterprise gear.
• You could also check out Firewalla, which are supposed to be simple and have good features. I think they’re absurdly overpriced for what you get, however.
