FiiO JA11
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The FiiO JA11 is a budget-friendly USB-C to 3.5mm DAC/AMP dongle recognized for offering hardware-level Parametric EQ (PEQ) at a very low price point. While its power output is modest—comparable to the standard Apple dongle—it is frequently recommended for users who want to customize their sound profile on mobile devices without spending significantly on higher-end gear.
Pros
- Features Parametric EQ (PEQ) support via the FiiO Control app
- Highly affordable budget option
- Good microphone performance (ADC support)
- Reliable compatibility with Android devices
Cons
- Low power output (approximately 30mW @ 32ohm)
- Performance and build may feel basic compared to slightly more expensive models like the KA11
Caveats
- The built-in EQ advantage is less relevant for PC users who have access to system-wide software EQ
- Power levels are similar to a standard Apple dongle, which may not suffice for demanding headphones
Best for
- Mobile users seeking hardware-based EQ on a tight budget
- Driving sensitive IEMs and easy-to-power headphones
- Android users looking for a reliable basic dongle
Avoid if
- You require high power for demanding or high-impedance headphones
- You primarily listen on a PC where software EQ is already available
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older (median age of approximately 397 days), and confidence should be lower for fast-changing hardware products.

The JA11 is not a good pick, as it is a bit low on power, the performance is not amazing for the price, it has some issues, and its main advantage is build in EQ which you don't need on PC.
yeah, you'd also be fine with a cheaper DAC/AMP dongle solution like the apple usbc to 3.5mm dongle, fiio ja11 or ka11, or a TRN black pearl, then running a USB-C cable from the PC to the dongle for clean routing.
The FT1 are easy to drive and I use a Fiio ja11
Instead I'd go with something that doesn't have problems with Android from the beginning like the Jcally JM6 Pro or Fiio JA11.
Parent context: JA11 is the one with the "KT" chip, right? That does have an ADC as well. I've heard it's good, microphone-wise. Power-wise it's similar to apple dongle (30mw @ 32ohm). Hiby FC1 is about double that. Reply: What about the fiio ja11? I've seen that around
At the very least, you will want a dongle DAC like the Fiio JA11, or better even KA11.
I use Zero Blue 2 with Fiio JA11 and want to upgrade
Its not hard to drive so you could get a cheap dongle like a Fiio JA11 to run it.
Also, you should get a dongle to drive them from a phone, like say a Fiio JA11.
I'd grab a Fiio JA11 for $15 from Aliexpress. Same power as Apple dongles but it has a PEQ which makes it the cheapest option with software EQ!
