Reddit take

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The FiiO FT7 is highly regarded for its premium all-metal craftsmanship and powerful, punchy bass performance. While many users find its detail retrieval and cinematic soundstage impressive for the price, there are reports of narrow, sharp treble peaks that can be difficult to equalize out.

Pros

  • Excellent bass variety, quality, and 'massaging' impact
  • Premium build quality with all-metal construction and no plastic
  • Realistic reproduction of vocals and instruments
  • Outstanding performance for movies and orchestral soundtracks
  • Perceived as high value relative to its build and sound quality

Cons

  • Narrow and sharp treble peaks that can be piercing on certain tracks
  • Treble issues may be difficult to fix via frequency sweeps or EQ
  • Some users may prefer the sound profile of more affordable models like the FT1

Caveats

  • Treble sensitivity appears to be the primary point of contention among listeners
  • The headphones are noted for being quite heavy on dynamics, which may not suit all genres

Best for

  • Bass enthusiasts
  • Movie watching and cinematic audio
  • Users who prioritize premium, non-plastic build materials

Avoid if

  • You are sensitive to sharp or peaky treble
  • You prefer a lightweight or plastic-based headphone design

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence comes from a small set of 11 mentions with a median age of approximately 192 days; while the sentiment is largely positive, the limited sample size suggests some caution.

The FT7 will be my final purchase this year, and I expect nothing but excellence.

I can only speak for the FT7 as I owned them for a while and the comfort was great , very little clamping force and amazing weight distribution, giant driver with very competent sound stage.

I love them too. I even like them more than the FiiO FT7 which are more expensive.

I slightly prefer the FiiO FT7 sound but it is very close. Comfort wise the FT7 is a lot better for me but neither is uncomfortable.

The Fiios seem to have interesting tuning, weigh a lot less, come with two pad options in the box, and have an available OEM velour option as well.

You might also checkout the Fiio FT7 or Moondrop Cosmo.

Well bass is massaging my frontal cortex. All I will say. And vocals and instruments, depending on song, can sound so... realistic!
