Fiio FT1s

I would also recommend to rather go straight for the Fiio FT1s, as someone else has already suggested, as they are not quite as “extreme” as the Meze 99 Classics.

The Fiio Ft1s are a great deal for closed backs though, maybe buy those and get a nicer pair of open backs later down the road.

My recommendation would be to snag a pair of Fiio FT1s for $160 and live with them awhile, and see if you like the way that they sound and how they sit on your head. Closed backs aren't for everyone, but the FT1 is the only one I recommend under $500 without any reservations.

If you can find a used pair of Fiio FT1s, they're a really great pair of inexpensive closed backs, and will be worlds better for production than anything Razer makes.

I would avoid gaming headsets entirely in favour of dedicated headphones, maybe something like the Fiio FT1s

Super happy with the sound, fit, quality of them and use them for at least 8 - 10 hours a day. I'm retired and spend most of my time watching movies, listening to music etc through these. I did own a DAC/AMP already, but they work fine plugged directly into my PC. Easy to drive. Full sound, good bass, but not overwhelming. Good soundstage. I tweaked them a small amount with an EQ, but out of the box the sound is very clean.

I think you'd like the Fiio FT1s better, as others have recommended. *Much* better bass.

For closed backs I'd go for fiio ft1s
