Pros
- I’d recommend putting it into FXAIX, QQQ, and/or a target date fund. Since you probably won’t be touching this money, these are good long term investments. FXAIX is fidelity’s mutual fund that tracks the S&P500, and has a .01% expense ra...
- I want to start off with VOO/FXAIX as my core.
- 50k? open a brokerage account and dump all of it into FXAIX. or do three fund: FXAIX 60%, FETH 20% and FZILX 20%. watch it grow.
- So lets say you decide to put the whole thing in FXAIX -- the Fidelity S&P 500 index mutual fund. I'd try to set up automatic withdrawls to occur once a quarter, generate taxes (maybe even withhold taxes) and invest the net back into FXA...
- I would start with one mutual fund -- FXAIX is the Fidelity-mutual-fund equivalent of VOO, and then slowly diversify.

I’d recommend putting it into FXAIX, QQQ, and/or a target date fund. Since you probably won’t be touching this money, these are good long term investments. FXAIX is fidelity’s mutual fund that tracks the S&P500, and has a .01% expense ratio. That’s as low as it’s gonna get.

So lets say you decide to put the whole thing in FXAIX -- the Fidelity S&P 500 index mutual fund. I'd try to set up automatic withdrawls to occur once a quarter, generate taxes (maybe even withhold taxes) and invest the net back into FXAIX in your taxable investment account.
I would start with one mutual fund -- FXAIX is the Fidelity-mutual-fund equivalent of VOO, and then slowly diversify.
investing 2k/m in fidelity brokerage: fffgx, ftec, fxaix
Either invest it all now in a general etf like VOO or FXAIX, both S&P etfs
Currently I have in my 401K $500K and in my NON IRA $350K. Roughly half of the $ is in CDs and the other half in FXAIX.
I recently sold mutual funds with expense ratios of 0.6 and higher and put into index funds like FXAIX which is only 0.015
ETFs are a good bet, I have my whole 401 in them, specifically FXAIX and right now it’s at a 17% annualized return. It’s been as high as 54%.
