Pros

  • Parent context: Why do people hate this game? I find the game to be genuinely really fun. Reply: It lacked any sort of replay value and content. Games like this sorta need something to chase to keep it interesting. It’s fun for the first...

Cons

  • I was in the beta testing, and I thought “This has a ton of potential, it’s gonna be awesome in 2026 after a ton of finishing work. What’s the release date? …oh. It’s coming out *next week*. Welp.”
  • Except that the formula they used for this game was really generic, with older games such as L4D doing it much better. Slap 40 dollars on top of it when you have better F2P GAAS out there results in a dead on arrival product.
  • Remedy is one of my favorite devs around but they really shit the bed with this game.
  • They have something special that people love and they risk their financial health for a boring ass multiplayer shooter that no one asked for.
  • Whoever approved launching this thing with barely any content needs to reevaluate how they do their job. You see everything this game has to offer in a couple hours and there is 0 reason to keep replaying the same missions over and over....

Parent context: Why do people hate this game? I find the game to be genuinely really fun. Reply: It lacked any sort of replay value and content. Games like this sorta need something to chase to keep it interesting. It’s fun for the first romp but quickly gets old after you’ve played all the levels 1-2 times.

Whoever approved launching this thing with barely any content needs to reevaluate how they do their job. You see everything this game has to offer in a couple hours and there is 0 reason to keep replaying the same missions over and over. The gameplay itself doesn't even have the inherent fun that L4D and other co-op zombie shooters that this riffs on.

It only hit that figure because it was on Game Pass and PS Plus, and its horrible user retention on Steam likely extends to both consoles. The game is very far from being a success at the moment.

Parent context: You’re telling me a whole ass new Control-Alan Wake universe game made by Remedy came out two months ago? Wtf Reply: Well no, a half assed new Control-Alan Wake universe made by Remedy came out 2 months ago.

They released what feels like a demo for a game.
