Pros

  • I like the game so far. I don't play games with turn-based combat anymore (with exceptions), so real time hack 'n slash combat is a breath of fresh air.
  • So the parts where you're just wandering around your hub, talking to people, and watching cutscenes are quite well-done. This is paired with *pretty good* writing. Not great, but each of the characters is distinct and has their own trage...

Cons

  • Hell, I'd probably even recommend Eternights ahead of this, despite its poor combat and unfortunate ending.
  • A *QR code*? Seriously? How un-immersive is that? Ridiculous.
  • Yeah, I had the same disappointment. I absolutely fell in love with the demo and its dialogue. Arguably it has better dialogue than Persona. It has a nice middle-ground between natural, conversational flow and something cartoony and fun....
  • I didn't like the game either. Eternights just had an air of cheapness throughout. The character portraits lacked lighting, making them feel like they came from a school 3d modeling project. The menus didnt have much feedback. Not includ...
  • Just finished this one last week and had almost the *exact* same reaction. The premise is cool, the art style grabs your attention, and there are genuinely charming moments... but the execution keeps tripping over itself. Pacing issues,...

Yeah, I had the same disappointment. I absolutely fell in love with the demo and its dialogue. Arguably it has better dialogue than Persona. It has a nice middle-ground between natural, conversational flow and something cartoony and fun. But I just can't stand the combat! I started playing on Hard and it was manageable but just... Super time consuming! Even switching to Easy, levels really drag.

I didn't like the game either. Eternights just had an air of cheapness throughout. The character portraits lacked lighting, making them feel like they came from a school 3d modeling project. The menus didnt have much feedback. Not including the first girl, the rest of the cast felt forced.

Just finished this one last week and had almost the *exact* same reaction. The premise is cool, the art style grabs your attention, and there are genuinely charming moments... but the execution keeps tripping over itself. Pacing issues, clunky mechanics, and writing that feels like it's trying too hard to be quirky.

I've been eyeing this game but the gameplay is just a turn off. I don't know why small devs try to make action combat. It's so difficult to make everything look and feel right.

seems pretty impressive for a solo dev game as far as emulating persona formula goes. prob could fix a lot of issues in a sequel.

Its definitely not on purpose, but the dream-like feel of the game is really enhanced by, what im assuming is, missing scenes due to budget. ... I kinda love it. Cheap but effective is my take so far. UI? Cheap but effective. Comedy? Cheap but effective. Combat, skill trees, story, animations, environments, puzzles. You get the idea.

It kills your spousu.! Straight up, nothing you can do about it. Whatever character you choose for your SO, they're marked for death. This comes out of nowhere about half an hour before the end of the game, no substantial foreshadowing or anything. It only happens for the sake of cheap weepy melodrama.!
