You shouldn’t have had to do EES again, you should have walked past the machines. Were you told to use them even though you said you were already registered?

Wasnt given an option. Was told to go in the queue and use the machine to register

For example entered Spain for the 1st time and did the whole picture and fingerprint scan on the self service machines, got my passport stamped and exited passport control. 2 month later i enter Spain again, but still have to queue for the self service machines and have both my picture and fingerprints taken again. So its the exact same process despite already having my details previously.

I’ve had a weird one where I registered it was all okay and then on the E-gate it said go for manual check? With a UK passport again

Was in Malaga a few weeks back and used EES in and out - week later I went to Luxembourg (both trips starting in the UK) and was told to register again. I did question it and was told the process has to be done every single time which seems bonkers
