- Hundreds of hours in Isaac, Slay the Spire, Enter the Gungeon, Monster Train etc.
- my two favorite games in the broader genre are Hades and Enter the Gungeon: ... with Enter the Gungeon the vast bulk of what you unlock between runs is just more possible loot added to the run tables (*lite/like hybrid*)
- I think you can apply nearly all these critiques to Enter the Gungeon. I love both games dearly but my ability to execute ran out long before the games did.
- Voidigo is the first game in a long time that gave me some of the feelings I first had when I played Enter the Gungeon. In my previous post, I'd mentioned that EtG was far and away my favorite roguelike.
Cons
- Enter the Gungeon was too repetitive for me (and difficult, if i’m honest)

This is my all-time favorite roguelike I've ever played. What elevates Gungeon for me is how all of its pieces come together. The game has an incredible amount of lore (despite how silly and unseriously it takes itself), some solid gags and humor, an amazing soundtrack, gorgeous art, and tight gameplay.
At least with games like enter the gungeon I was unlocking stuff. I need that little progression to not feel like it’s a waste of time
