Enlightened Equipment

Pros

• Katabatic, Enlightened Equipment, Hammock Gear, etc are standard are well regarded (enough).
• Enlightened equipment does that (they have quilts that can be zipped into bags that would fit your use case.)
• Enlightened Equipment is US owned and all custom quilts and clothing are made in Minnesota
• Enlightened Equipment / Katabatic do seem to have plenty of positive data points so that does seem to be a safe route to go.
• There's a thread on BPL where they asked both Western Mountaineering and Enlightened Equipment if compression damaged the down, and both said no, as long as the bag is dry.

Cons

• EE design SUCKS. They use double length U-shaped baffles that are super long and promote down migration and cold spots. This is purely a cost cutting measure, but the price tag does not reflect it at all. They also don’t have differentia...
• Crazy how EE quilts went from the standard option to objectively terrible designs right after it was revealed that they ran an altright dog-whistle campaign
• I use an Enlightened Equipment, but I wouldn't recommend that because they're fascist. I bought it before I knew and will drive it into dirt before I switch to something else.
• EE has a poor baffle design making them sleep colder than similar weight/temperature rated quilts. Other popular options tend to be warmer for the weight and listed rating.
• Enlightened Equipment can suck my entire asshole.
