Eagle Rare 12 year

Pros

• The 12 actually tastes like double digit aged bourbon. The standard 10 does not have that sense of maturity.
• I love the ER 12 the extra 2 years does a lot and feel the first release was using some really nice barrels. ... if I find ER 12 for $100 or under I’d always buy it personally.
• 65 for ER12 is a legit score, that extra sweetness and thickness is what the age statement is supposed to bring. ... Both are solid sippers that don't need anything added to them.

Cons

• Parent context: Would you say the ER 12 is worth the secondary price of $120? Reply: No. I was personally disappointed at the price given the flavor profile. It's good but I'd rather stay with the 10 given the price.
• This beat old forester 1924 ($120), eagle rare 12, 1792 12 year and Elijah Craig 15 year ($150) in a blind for me.
• If Buffalo Trace took the same approach with Eagle Rare 12 it would have made it stand out substantially from the classic ER10 instead of ending up being effectively the same (for me, at least).
