Pros
- I did this same comparison a while back with EHT SmB and SiB, and I also had SmB on top.
- I love the small batch, but I really love the single barrels to the point where the small batch doesn’t compete.
- E.H. Taylor Small Batch, by contrast, was the more complete experience: more well-rounded, more complex, and with a deeper flavor profile that gave you more to chase across the glass rather than one dominant impression.
- Yeah, I love the small batch don’t get me wrong. Definitely one of my favorite bottles in its price range. ... it’s my favorite of the “entry level” BT products.
- I’m a fan of E.H. Taylor Small Batch ... which is both lighter and sweeter than this Single Barrel was. ... EHT Small Batch earned from me previously [a 7.6].
Cons
- Parent context: For me the finish was “short”? I grabbed a few bottles at 50$ to compare when the first one’s gone Reply: I'm guessing you're talking about the Small Batch, not the BTAC?
- E.H. Taylor Small Batch is a bottled-in-bond Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, 100 proof... I find it underwhelming, though plenty of people really love it, and it is not one I reach for when cheaper bottles do more. ... Even...
- Small Batch: 5 ... I'll add that for me a "low" ranking doesn't necessarily equate to a bad whiskey ... I just don't find it being as complex and nuanced.
- It’s almost twice the MSRP of regular Buffalo Trace and to me doesn’t taste significantly better.
- The first 1 I tried was great, got me looking for more. I've found 2 lately, opened 1 and am unimpressed. I hope it gets better with some time.

EHT edges it for me as well.
I far prefer the EHT to Eagle Rare 10 ... The EHT is better balanced and more interesting IMO.
the taylor got that extra proof that makes it feel more serious you know
Rating B: 7.6 ... B, on the other hand, was slightly darker and more robust, with a touch less sweetness and a touch more complexity. ... B’s finish was slightly better because it lacked the sour oak note that A briefly featured
