Pros
- Check out the Miele C3, Riccar R27, R30 or Dyson Ball Animal 3.
- Last year it was time to upgrade from a cheap but fully sealed bagless to a nicer one and since there was a sale I bought a Dyson Ball Animal 3. It was the best vacuum I've found to use for carpet cleaning.
- Costco and Sams Club often run a sale on the Dyson Ball Animal 3+ for 279. It's really one of the best out there and absolutely can't be beat for the price. There are issues with Dyson having parts on hand, but you can find parts on ebay...
- the Ball Animal 3 is on sale if you have a Costco membership (it’s under your budget there). Probably one of the best bagless options out there.
- I’d look into the Sebo Felix if you can swing $800. If not, maybe the Dyson Ball Animal 3. It seemed to get pretty good reviews when I was doing my research and is in your budget.
Cons
- One is a Ball Animal 3 that we use on bedroom rugs. All of them we’ve done regular maintenance on and take good care of but find that we’re still very unhappy with the effort it takes for them to pick up the dog hair.
- For $280, the Dyson is an OK choice. I don’t think they’re made super well and have creaky plastic that can break easily but they’re not awful.

The Dyson Ball Animal 3 knocks the socks off the Navigator models and even the Stratos in many ways. It is still the most solid and safe Dyson model and one of the most solid bagless upright vacuum cleaners on the market.
The Dyson Animal ball 3 is a solid vacuum for the money. ... I've read of several really good reviews of the 3rd gen Dyson Ball. I'm not sure what the OP means by 2B 2B apartment, but as long as it's mostly carpet because that's the Dyson Ball's specialty. 299 is also a really good price.
Tbh neither. Both of these should be avoided. Take a look around this sub. Both brands are universally hated regardless of how marketing dollars influence “reviewers” opinions. Mainly because bagless vacuums by design do not suction or filter well, nor do they last long.
