Pros
- Doom: The Dark Ages had some great Atmos sound.
- The peak of this game is its big open area battles. All the modern games have some take on this, and Dark Ages is excellent at it, with flat, wide spaces to battle in and just a few environmental elements to break things up. The battles...
- The newest one in the franchise, TDA is a prequel to both games... everything the Doomslayer does has a lot of weight. From the guns, to the melees, to the shield, even the Atlan parts... have some incredible feel, no notes here, stellar...

Cons
- Dark Ages doesn't have glory kills (a negative for me but if that's what you prefer...)
- The game introduces open areas alongside more traditional corridor sections, and the open areas are the weakest part for me. They're needed to set up the big open battles, but in every other respect they're pretty dull. Between fights yo...
- The Atlan and the Dragon suck, there's no going around them. You know how every game has a *that moment* when you're replaying, that you remember why you don't replay more of them? Yeah, these two are those. The Atlan is a repetitive slog

The game introduces open areas alongside more traditional corridor sections, and the open areas are the weakest part for me. They're needed to set up the big open battles, but in every other respect they're pretty dull. Between fights you spend a lot of time backtracking to look for secrets, which gets tedious
The peak of this game is its big open area battles. All the modern games have some take on this, and Dark Ages is excellent at it, with flat, wide spaces to battle in and just a few environmental elements to break things up. The battles are frantic but not as one-dimensional as a game like Serious Sam. It's somewhat tactical.
The newest one in the franchise, TDA is a prequel to both games... everything the Doomslayer does has a lot of weight. From the guns, to the melees, to the shield, even the Atlan parts... have some incredible feel, no notes here, stellar work

As you can guess from the title, I think it worked. ... It's all a pure power fantasy that is so delightfully Doom. ... Once it starts clicking, the combat feels incredibly fast-paced and much closer to the Eternal style of fast, varied inputs than the more traditional run-and-gun approach of most other shooters.
