Doctor Who

Pros

• Doctor Who: hard to describe bc there's nothing else like it, but it's at the intersection of low-budget Brit shows, sci-fi weirdness-of-the-week, and time-travel. Cheesy and fun and strange.
• The show was always better with lower budgets. All the most iconic parts of who have been the episodes where a creative concept is used like ‘are you my mummy’, the weeping angels (the first time), even the big series climaxes like the D...
• Here’s a taste of what I’ve loved: Sci-fi/Fantasy (my comfort zone): ... Doctor Who
• Which is funny because the Moffat years of Doctor Who from around the same time don't really have that issue. S5 especially is full of some phenomenal episodes such as The Eleventh Hour or Vincent and the Doctor.
• It’s just a wonderful show and is a lot like Star Trek in some aspects. In that morality and knowledge and being good play huge roles. This can lead to Some cheese but it can also lead to some truly wonderful moments.

Cons

• NewWho was best when it was character and plot-based rather than featuring massive international landscapes and wild CGI, it creeped during Capaldi's era then outright embraced it during Whittaker's era. There's a reason Tennant's (Ten)...
• Yeah, Doctor Who's problem isn't audience fatigue, it's untalented hacks steering the ship. Suggesting a 'rest' without admitting why it would need a rest to begin with is only kicking the can down the road for the same mistakes to be po...
• The fact it ended up being “will he cry in this episode” bingo.. (To be clear i have zero issue with the doctor being a charismatic, smoking hot gay doctor. But my god did he really have to cry every fucking episode.)
• Doctor Who getting a massive budget killed it. The focus became less on writing and the characters themselves instead "what's the big expensive CGI set piece we can have this episode"
• But I stopped watching the show at some point in the 5th or probably 6th season, due to the writing.
