Pros

  • They have slight 'mids forward' tuning, which I love. But it's also what I grew up with, with British and Japanese hifi. They sound like a warm hug, but they have good detail too.

Cons

  • The D5200 I feel went under the radar. MSRP price was definitely too high but used around 200-250€ they're pretty solid IMO. The main issue is the poor comfort (but its worse on the 7200 because the headband cushion is less thick). Sound...
  • Slight downside: the bracket arms on the original headband are unequal lengths. That means the Denon logos are now on the wonk. Not the end of the world though.
  • I picked up a 'nearly new' pair of Denon AH-D5200s a while ago. I absolutely love how they sound, but the headband hotspot was unbearable.
  • Like with the Denon AH-D5200s, they get a lot of praise online but they just felt wrong on my head. Comfort was really bad and I didnt like the sound either.

The D5200 I feel went under the radar. MSRP price was definitely too high but used around 200-250€ they're pretty solid IMO. The main issue is the poor comfort (but its worse on the 7200 because the headband cushion is less thick). Soundwise it's a bit more colored in the mids than something like the FT1 or Azurys but it still managed to sound engaging enough.
