I mean it's not great basically in any city but Delhi was WAY worse than the others.
Delhi fucking sucks. I'm in India right now for 2.5 weeks and we had to spend our first day there upon arrival. It's unlivable. The air is unbreathable.

Delhi IS NOT a normal city if you are a traveler. If you don’t plan carefully, a taxi driver will just take you to another hotel that gives them commission. Plan accordingly.
Taj Mahal and Delhi are interesting, but they are also very very hectic, crowded, and dirty, and some of my least favorite places in India.
Delhi was where shit truly hit the fan, trash was everywhere in and around the sites, the smell OMG the smell… Delhi was probably one of the worst smelling cities I’ve ever been to.

Delhi and the Golden Triangle (Delhi-Jaipur-Agra) can be a bit overwhelming. Plus Delhi has bad air (air pollution, many mornings are hazzy/ foggy, cant even see blue sky, smell of smokes/burning, causing throat irratation)
I can understand your frustration though that’s how I felt about Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. No desire to go back there at all.
Delhi in particular is underrated considering it’s the capital and many people fly there; don’t just use it for a layover, take some time to visit the Qutb Minar, Safdarjung’s and Humayun’s tomb and the Sunder nursery, Lpdi Gardens, the Old fort, the Red fort, Old Delhi and the Jama Masjid, Khan Market for shopping and eating…
