Pros
- one the games I regret most not being able to continue playing. the grind is just too much, otherwise this game is so awesome.
- Im not much of a roguelike player, but I loved the aesthetic. I had fun 7/10
- I am a huge fan of the video games
- The first Darkest Dungeon was released in 2016 but remains a must-play, a radical indie title with a killer artistic direction. It's a game that I wholeheartly recommend to anyone with any interest in tactical turn-based gameplay and/or...
- Darkest Dungeon is far and away one of my favorite gaming experiences. So much so that I even came back to beat the game on Bloodmoon difficulty
Cons
- DD1 is the only game I turned cheats / god mode on to get any further and it was *still* a grind to get through once.
- I only played the first Darkest Dungeon and found it a good but extremely frustrating experience. I cannot for the life of me understand why you need to complete the game 3 times just to beat it once.
- It's not the first, nor the last, time, I've faced this combination: games like Darkwood, Dead Rising, Majora's Mask, and Darkest Dungeon were other such games that elicited similar feelings. A growing dread with every mistake, the possi...
- The only negative about the game is a feature of the experience, which can be off putting: the unknown is incredibly nerve-wracking. You're essentially having to prepare and plan for threats you may have never seen, in the hopes you're a...

The first Darkest Dungeon was released in 2016 but remains a must-play, a radical indie title with a killer artistic direction. It's a game that I wholeheartly recommend to anyone with any interest in tactical turn-based gameplay and/or Lovecraftian horror.
It's not the first, nor the last, time, I've faced this combination: games like Darkwood, Dead Rising, Majora's Mask, and Darkest Dungeon were other such games that elicited similar feelings. A growing dread with every mistake, the possibility for setback, and in some instances a need to reset.
The only negative about the game is a feature of the experience, which can be off putting: the unknown is incredibly nerve-wracking. You're essentially having to prepare and plan for threats you may have never seen, in the hopes you're able to adapt. What makes it worse is you're punished for not knowing what's coming
Darkest Dungeon is far and away one of my favorite gaming experiences. So much so that I even came back to beat the game on Bloodmoon difficulty
The game is positively over the top with its prose, and the delivery by our narrator (The Ancestor; Wayne June) is so utterly perfect from tone to inflection.
