Cryptonomicon is a blast
Cryptonomicon is my favorite book of all time and I'll be the first to admit that there are parts that haven't aged particularly well. But I still think it's worth reading
I love Foucault’s Pendulum and heartily endorse The Baroque Cycle and Cryptonomicon - very similar ideas and themes and literary devices.
Think you would love Neal Stephenson. Start with Cryptonomicon which is about WW2, Cryptography, money, the invention of computing and a Ronald Reagan adjacent mental breakdown.
