Yeah they’re amazing. They’re like an HD600 IEM with a proper subbass response and that’s all I’ve been looking for personally.

The Reference is the first IEM since the STORM that instantly didn’t piss me off. I don’t think the Reference is a “budget STORM” because they go for a much darker air presentation.

The Reference also completely outclasses the Mega5EST in technicalities: where the latter struggles to isolate bass lines from drum rudiments, the former balances the tightrope of coherence and isolation like a maestro, rendering perfect snare and cymbal timbre. The Mega5EST has problems with its note weight, whereas the Reference offers incredible rationing, a lip-smacking shimmer, and pristine detail retrieval with near-zero sibilance.
Just get the Reference and know that whatever you got is the last listening device you or anyone may need. Yeah it will sound completely diff than Airpods, but in a better way.
my favorite IEMs in that price range are the CrinEar Reference.
