Pros

  • I personally am so glad they went with the eerie, ambiguously post-apocalyptic science fantasy setting for Cocoon. I absolutely adored the atmosphere of that game.
  • Imo Cocoon is a nice viet brand overall (even more affordable if you have friend get for you in local price, considering it's kinda almost double the price even post-sale, maybe accounting the tariff/whatever extra fees).
  • Cocoon is a very beginner-friendly puzzle game with striking visuals. It has no dialogues or texts, yet it smartly guides you through the puzzle-led gameplay process effortlessly.
  • They made cocoon after, it's also really good
  • I felt like this game gave me real strong astrobot Vibes for graphic and controller feel, I played it on my ps5. I thought the sound cues when you make progress were a really cool touch.

Cons

  • Overall I thought it was alright. The graphics and controls felt nice and the puzzles were challenging. Main downer is that sometimes the puzzles spanned multiple screens and levels so there were a lot of areas which felt overwhelming at...

  • Great visuals and atmosphere. Puzzles were just decent, and thought they could have done a bit more with the mechanics.

I kinda had the opposite experience tbh. I really went into this game with high expectations (I love puzzle games like this), but something about it just didn't scratch the itch for me. The puzzles were just a bit too easy, and a lot of them required so much slow walking. Really wish the walking speed was a lot faster for some of those segments

It does a great job of closing off paths while still requiring "backtracking" through orbs. I never felt too overwhelmed by the mechanics.

I found Cocoon truly engaging from start to finish, unable to put it down. It's one of the few games I've found that didn't overstay its welcome, but left me wanting more by the time I rolled credits.

I enjoyed Cocoon a lot but mostly for the fusion of mechanics and art style.
