Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • Clue is SO FUN Especially if you (like me) have the DVD. When you hit play, you have two options: “random ending” or “play all.” There are multiple versions the crime could’ve played out!
  • Things like Clue and Monster Prom come to mind.
  • This and the movie Clue were watched in their entirety on HBO every time they were on.
  • And I have tickets to see Clue for the 40th next month. As a late-30-something who didn’t get to see these movies in a theater, it’s such a delight.
  • Ended up laughing my ass off at Clue.

Cons

  • I played classics when I was younger, like Monopoly, and Clue.
  • Clue can be a very fun game! That said, it's definitely showing its age and there have been some really cool developments in investigation/detective board games since Clue was made
  • (American) mass market game apropos are referring to here are like the 10 games everyone has in their closet on the 1990s like Monopoly, Sorry, Clue, Battleship, Life etc
  • I know only 5 have been revealed so far, so more would be coming, but I feel “classic” games like Monopoly, Clue, Scrabble, etc, should also be included.

I’ve been playing boardgames all my life–those copies of Clue and Stratego are my originals from 40 years ago.

I’ve been playing board games all my life, in fact that copy of Clue and Stratego are my original ones I got when I was 13 (4 decades ago!).
