Cisco

Pros

• I've bought used Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and other high end switches used and never had a problem. For one client, we recently bought 4 used Cisco 10G switches that worked great, for about 20% of the new cost.
• I'm pretty happy with refurbished Cisco gear. The supplier we buy from isn't the cheapest but on the other hand when something breaks it's no-question-asked replaced.
• Netgear is garbage. Don't lead this poor soul down that road. Cisco or even TP-Link is better.
• I'm Big fan of Cisco and Mikrotik, let me tell you lol.
• Cisco, Fortinet and Aruba switches will all support QoS in some form.

Cons

• they're still about the same now cause the real price was like $40k and Cisco had some phat margins on RAM.
• Parent context: You have two different APs broadcasting the same SSIDs but are entirely different manufacturers, etc? Do your clients roam well? Do things improve if you turn off the Cisco? Reply: I actually thought it was the Cisco, sin...
• Will there be fiber-fed Cisco and UniFi APs?
• Larger clients end up with sonicwalls, fortigates, and for switches it can be their pick of cisco, fortinet, aruba, etc.
• The price of better non-chinese-brand network stack is too high. Fortinet, Aruba, Cisco, ….
