For Chongqing, it's a really cool city as well, and I think you'd be accurate in saying it's less international, but it's also a mega city that may or may not align with how you think about authenticity.
I want to capture the neon drenched streets of Chongqing, the fields of Guilin, the peaks of Zhangjiajie and the Great Wall.
I have been to Chongqing in october of last year, and it was everything i imagined it would be.
Also getting around is more difficult due to how three dimensional the city is (I legit could not find the entrance to the metro closest to my hotel for 2 days).
The thing that draws me to Chongqing in my memory is the time i drove down an elevated highway which was snaking it's way between multiple skyscrapers.
Chongqing gets crazy hot, while i was there it hit 39° with like 9000% humidity.
March will be foggy some days which actually makes Chongqing look even more dramatic. The city has this whole cyberpunk vibe in the mist.
I want to visit China and now its free visa I will this year. 2 main places are shanghai and chongqing both look good for different reasons
Going all the way to China to only see Chongqing is such a waste. Chongqing is way down there of must-see places in China.
Chongqing is also just a city good for a few days.
