That is the best news I’ve heard in ages. I have actively avoided Chile for a while because of how much of a pain the visa was the few times I did go.
If you’re Australian, a visa is required for Chile, so don’t self-connect, make sure it’s all one ticket and that the transit in SCL is less than 8 hours.
Not all of Latin America is unsafe countries like Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Chile can also be great for solo female travel if you stay in safe areas and take normal precautions.
