Pros
- I was really surprised and impressed with the gameplay centered around visiting different areas for different resources. That kind of simulation aspect of it. It was cool how the threats rotated through, changing the details when you'd v...
- The levels were really cool. Big, full of small areas to access and explore, totally out of the way and unnecessary. I always found multiple ways into or out of somewhere, which made playing feel so much more organic and spontaneous.
- Photorealistic locations of Pripyat and surrounding areas mean that exploration has an extra dynamic for those interested in the real disaster.
- The voice acting was one of my favourite aspects of the game. The two main voice actors are fantastic, and really help make this a better experience. The visual style is distinctive, I loved the Chernobylite graphics especially the fract...
- Its not an AAA game, but I enjoyed it for what it was for being an Indie. Loved the Times when that big black dude came hunting you and the Base building and food management among other things
Cons
- The atmosphere was a cool mix of spooky and oddly relaxing and I enjoyed the gameplay loop. I will say, however, that it was just on the verge of overstaying its welcome by the time I'd finished. The shallowness of some of the gameplay s...
- Overall, not a great game. I can excuse the lackluster gunplay and other gameplay flaws since that’s not really the intent behind the game, but the writing cannot be excused. ... In the meantime I did finish the game and found the final...
- English actors were horrible.
- I really wanted to like it but that timetravelbullshit killed it for me
- Good – time travel is my jam. There’s some cool game mechanics involving time travel, and some cool story points involving it. ... Bad – there’s very little depth to the enemies, loot system and building system. ... Ugly – a core mechani...

The atmosphere was a cool mix of spooky and oddly relaxing and I enjoyed the gameplay loop. I will say, however, that it was just on the verge of overstaying its welcome by the time I'd finished. The shallowness of some of the gameplay systems was showing and the story lost a lot of steam towards the end
Overall, not a great game. I can excuse the lackluster gunplay and other gameplay flaws since that’s not really the intent behind the game, but the writing cannot be excused. ... In the meantime I did finish the game and found the final mission to be a lot more interesting than previous ones. In hindsight, my enjoyment has improved. The story becomes more compelling once you start seeing how your choices affects your companions, the story, and by extension the ending.
I was really surprised and impressed with the gameplay centered around visiting different areas for different resources. That kind of simulation aspect of it. It was cool how the threats rotated through, changing the details when you'd visit each location. Drones, storms, heavy patrols.
The levels were really cool. Big, full of small areas to access and explore, totally out of the way and unnecessary. I always found multiple ways into or out of somewhere, which made playing feel so much more organic and spontaneous.
English actors were horrible.

Photorealistic locations of Pripyat and surrounding areas mean that exploration has an extra dynamic for those interested in the real disaster.
The voice acting was one of my favourite aspects of the game. The two main voice actors are fantastic, and really help make this a better experience. The visual style is distinctive, I loved the Chernobylite graphics especially the fractal realm.
Good – time travel is my jam. There’s some cool game mechanics involving time travel, and some cool story points involving it. ... Bad – there’s very little depth to the enemies, loot system and building system. ... Ugly – a core mechanic is you have a time travel gun and can re-visit choices you’ve made. ... The problem is that some of the choices will negatively impact your companion relationships no matter what you choose, 3 strikes and they leave the team. They feel really arbitrary and forced
I genuinely like what the devs intended to do here and there is a lot of love put into the game, I was surprised by the strong introduction and narrative. However, it also lacks from a real identity crisis. The gameplay loop wasn't very satisfying to me and I really don't care about crafting. The exploration and combat felt a bit tacked on for my taste.
