  • Chelsea is a nicer area overall (particularly along Kings Rd) but its not going to be as central to the main London sites.
  • Chelsea is generally the better area of the two as Soho can be noisy, but personally I'd also look at hotels along the river (Waterloo, Southwark, London Bridge, Tower Bridge) as it is better connected for the major tourist attractions.
  • When I was last there I stayed in Chelsea and there were a number of good value hotels in that area, and it’s much more chill.
  • Chelsea's got Hyde Park right there and King's Road for shopping, plus the music venues in that area are solid - I'd lean that way over SoHo.
