I haven’t been to either, but I know my parents loved Cascais, enough that the next time they went, they spent a few days there.
Cascais, on the other hand, was the sleeper hit of my trip. Loved it and would highly recommend a day trip.

Cascais for 2 nights is a great idea. Yes, shops and restaurants are usually open on Saturday and on Labour Day, especially in a place like Cascais.
I never went into Cascais idk what's unique. You could make a loop of it castle pena and the beach but parking will be big hassle I would Uber the whole thing.
Went to Cascais was nice but was in early October so not really crowded. Also came to suggest Caiscais. It's lovely! A little bit of this,, a little bit of that. Good restaurants, some shopping, cute neighborhoods and the beach.

Lisbon is beautiful but we've also enjoyed time in Cascais and Sintra. So much to offer from vibrant cities to lush greenery and majestic coastlines. Delicious food. Immensely kind people. Just an overall wonderful place that we look forward to exploring more of in the coming years.
