Yes, *Casablanca* (1942) with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman is a classic for many reasons. The plot has twists and turns. Editing and pacing are great, the film moves along well, no slow sections. It has a great script with many memorable lines. The sets transport you to another time and place. Cinematography that shows how lush a black and white film can be. Music that is important for the plot. Characters that are light and fun, and characters that are complex. Humor: both physical humor and spoken humor. Emotions: love, heartbreak, anger, happiness, despair. Hopefulness, for the end of the crazy war and all crazy wars.
