Played this twice and it’s always a ton of fun. Also great when you have a full 8 so you accommodate a lot.

If you've got 8, I'd recommend Captain Sonar for a fun, real-time submarine warfare/puzzle game.

I have played captain sonar multiple times. It has both turn based and real time variants in the box, both are tense white knuckle nail biting experiences. 10/10 can't recommend enough.

I've played captain sonar 8 players a few times. It's a great experience and gets oldies and young people together and it's quite easy to teach.

I have a rule in my life: if there are ever going to be at least 8 people at the function, I'm bringing Captain Sonar. Quite simply the most fun you can have at 8.

7 Wonders, Cosmic Encounter, and Captain Sonar are what we play with 6-8 players.

If the player count is 6 or 8 captain sonar is one of the best " party" games. Real time battle ship.

After having played Captain Sonar in alternating turn mode on a few occasions, I finally managed the play the simultaneous version this weekend. So much fun.
