Oxford, Bath | Stonehenge, Salisbury, Winchester, Canterbury, and Cambridge? And half-days to Greenwich and Windsor? They are all excellent excursions.
Our five favourite day-trips have been Oxford, Cambridge, Canterbury, Winchester, Salisbury - all with very elegant builds and cathedrals, and a very lively high street vibe too.
Visit Cambridge for the day it’s only an hour on the train from Kings Cross. Explore the architecture of the Universities and go punting on the Cam.
Not on your list but less tourists than Oxford but has the same history is Cambridge.
We moved to Cambridge about 7 years ago and love it here.
