Pros

  • If you leave from the south of Portugal just go to any seaside town in Huelva or Cadiz and eat as much fish as you can.
  • I think both of these cities are my favorite in Spain and among my favorites in Spain.
  • Ronda, Cordoba, Granada and Cadiz were wonderful
  • Valencia, San Sebastian, or Cadiz are beachy.
  • I’ve also heard great things about Cadiz and Tarifa is great for the beach/kitesurfing.

Cadiz has nice beaches, great food, flamenco and that laid back Andalucia "vibe".

I can’t recommend Cadiz in Spain enough. Everything is in walking distance, best beaches and sunset in Spain and not too many tourists.

Ended up in Cadiz unexpectedly with our 7 year old this summer. (Long story about ferry and parking messes). It delivers ancient city sights, wonderful beach, many hotels with pools overlooking the sea, good food, kind people. We were really happy we ended up spending time there.
