Pros

  • Reese bros, 2m and burnt bean are all 10/10 in my book.
  • I live in Seguin and I'm so happy we have a world class BBQ joint in Burnt Bean. And it may be sacrilege, but I almost think their turkey is the best thing on the menu. I'm normally not a huge fan of turkey in general, and I CRAVE theirs...
  • Yeah Burnt Bean is amazing
  • Ernest is the truth yall. Forgot to post this from our last visit there a few weeks back. The food was incredible. S/O that Bacon as a special. Love a place that cares as much about the sides as the meat. Ernest is cooking up some go the...
  • Loved burnt bean! The meats were awesome, but I loved their sides. Always nice when a place has some unique sides that are top notch.

Cons

  • Brisket had a good taste but was dry...think overcooked turkey dry. Had to take a few drinks to be able to get it down.
  • Burnt Bean isn't even the best BBQ in Sequin let alone the entire state.
  • When I went about 2 years ago, I thought the brisket was very pot-roasty. It was not great. The rest was good, but never blew me away like others places did.

I had been to Franklin the day before, brisket was on point. Excited to try burnt bean. Their specials looked really good. We tried the brisket, ribs, chicken leg, Ensenada chicken and house sausage. I was really disappointed. Brisket was ok, not melt in your mouth like goldees or Franklin, or interstellar. The bark was kinda dry. 1/2 chicken in the special was tough and definitely not hot.

I live in Seguin and I'm so happy we have a world class BBQ joint in Burnt Bean. And it may be sacrilege, but I almost think their turkey is the best thing on the menu. I'm normally not a huge fan of turkey in general, and I CRAVE theirs. So flavorful and moist with perfect texture every time.
