Buck 112

I love the 112, I'd buy 20 more if I could afford it

112 hits all the right buttons.

A Buck 112, though, is just as tough as a 110, but it is a little smaller and is more conducive to carrying in a pocket. Both are great knives

Safer bets would be the 112, or the 501 for more carry friendly alternatives.

I posted a pic of my custom Buck 112 recently after three years of carrying daily. Definitely worth the price, imo.

My picks today would be over your price point due to new steels available but I have Buck 110’s, 112’s and one of my favorite field knives is the 692 and they have a 113 that’s a good skinner. They should be in your price range.

the buck 112 is just about the perfect size!

Parent context: Different hand sizes I guess. For me, my pinky slips off of the back with the M16, the Buck 112 is right around perfect with around 1/3 an inch left at the back.
