Yes, book 3 is incredibly rushed. Flashback heavy so there's zero tension and everything present day has no time to percolate or feel meaningful. I liked the first two books. Disliked the third and would generally disagree on him nailing the landing.
Meh, he lost me when the protag made a literal angel cry from sheer edginess. Like, I'm not going to deny that he did *a lot* of growing throughout the series but "He's only a gang rapist because a math wizard messed with his head and also a priest diddled him" doesn't really change his shittiness
I literally just finished the series! Entering it I expected to hate Jorg, but instead I liked him from the beginning. I'm very happy with how Lawrence wrote him. ... I also appreciate the series for keeping me interested when dual timeline is one of my most hated trope. I think book 2 is the best at building up the puzzle, you could know which part of the story is missing, and you'll feel the resolution afterwards.

The flashback to the dog lesson wrecked me. Amazing trilogy.
Did book 3 feel rushed to anyone else? I felt like we were just getting into the swing of things and then it ended. It almost felt like where you're writing a paper to a deadline and you're only part way through but you've run out of time, so you just stick the conclusion on the end and call it done.
I'm a big fan of the trilogy too, it can be difficult to write in first person whilst building suspense and not giving too much away to the reader. But Mark does a stellar job of it in different ways through all three books, without making you feel like information is being purposely hidden from the reader.
