Nothing per se, it's a nice island, but personally I don't think it counts as "tropical paradise". Panglao's beaches are crowded as hell (and not that nice), Bohol has some more remote beaches but I am not sure if you can get decent accommodation there.
Bohol is reachable from MNL but honestly I don't think it's really a tropical paradise.
1 week in Bohol is way too long. 3 or 4 days max is enough to see all the highlights. I was in Bohol for 3 days then stuck there for an extra 2 due to bad weather and couldn’t take the ferry to our next destination. I was so bored with those 2 extra days.
Stay in Philippines. DO NOT MISS Palawan (El Nido or Coron), Puerto Princessa if you like underground caves. Then head over to Boracay, Bohol and/or Siquijor.
Fly directly to Bohol instead of Cebu. The transfers from Cebu to Bohol are just a waste of time and energy.
