I've done it three times in two of their different service areas, and it is wildly dependent on both the local Blueground and the building. The last minute deal is the only way I will ever book it though, because of price.

I also rented one from them in Berlin and we were the first ones to stay there. That was a mistake. The management team in Berlin was not as on top of things and since it was a new unit there were more things that needed work. I still enjoyed staying there overall but the internet was not great and the first few days the place smelled like paint because they had just painted which was not ideal.

On the latter, the experience has been bad. Apartment itself was pretty worn out, with cheap IKEA furniture. WiFi was spotty - one had to force-restart it several times in a day. ... Blueground still has not refunded our security deposit, even though they had stated that they will usually return it within 21 days. Emails to their customers service have been unresponsive (aside from their automated, generic replies), and even combative at times.
