Black Myth: Wukong

Black Myth: Wukong is a visually spectacular action game primarily praised for its creative and mechanically diverse boss battles. While the combat and spectacle are highly regarded, the game receives significant criticism for its level design, which many users describe as a confusing or tedious "slog" that lacks clear landmarks. It is often characterized as a combat-first "boss rush" rather than a traditional soulslike, as it lacks a stamina bar and focuses less on exploration.
Pros
- Epic, visually stunning, and mechanically unique boss battles.
- Beautiful environmental graphics and high production value.
- Rewarding combat loop that encourages respec-ing and adapting to specific fights.
- Respects player time by allowing quick retries after failure.
Cons
- Weak level design featuring confusing branching paths and repetitive corridors.
- Significant performance drop-off and stuttering when pushing for ultra settings.
- Chapter 6 is frequently cited as being significantly worse in design than previous chapters.
- Steep difficulty spikes on specific bosses that may require dozens of attempts.
Caveats
- Not a traditional soulslike; the absence of a stamina bar changes the combat rhythm significantly.
- Highly optimized for Nvidia hardware; AMD users may experience comparatively worse performance.
- The game world is often described as a series of beautiful but "serviceable corridors" rather than a cohesive world to explore.
Best for
- Players who enjoy high-difficulty boss encounters and spectacle-driven action.
- Nvidia GPU owners looking for a graphical showcase for DLSS and frame generation.
- Action fans who prefer a "boss rush" structure over intricate level exploration.
Avoid if
- You prioritize complex, interconnected level design and exploration.
- You are sensitive to stuttering or performance inconsistencies on high-end PC hardware.
- You find repetitive boss-wall difficulty spikes frustrating rather than rewarding.

Im getting into a lot of the more taxing games like Black Myth Wukong, Elden Ring, Nioh 3 and other such games like that I want to be able to run them all at high with not really any issues
I can make them run very smooth with medium to high graphic settings but when I start pushing into the ultra tier that I built the rig for I start hitting issues.
But when I'm playing games like STALKER 2 / BLACK MYTH WUKONG ... I always max them out (1080P) and turn on Framegen ...
A good example is Black Myth: Wukong, which is a LOT faster on Nvidia cards.
I wouldn't say that Black Myth: Wukong, Battlefield 6 or Doom: The Dark Ages are particularly lenient, though sure, Arc Raiders is a well-optimized game.
I started playing Black Myth: Wukong and it was sorta stuttering so...
For Black Myth Wukong specifically, that game runs worse on AMD due to heavy DLSS/Nvidia optimisation.
It’s pretty good. Not a true soulslike as there is no stamina bar and the emphasis lies heavily on boss fights, making the whole game feel like a boss rush at times. 8/10
The fact that this game was talked about non stop and was everywhere you looked for like a month and then nothing after made me think they just pumped out pr to make an average game seem incredible.
It's an 8/10 game that gets glazed as if it's a masterpiece
