Pros

  • Since you enjoyed half-life 1 you should play Black Mesa it's a fan remake of half-life 1 that's really good.
  • Black Mesa: I don’t really play that much so only about an hour in. I feel like this is what Half Life 1 looked like, didn’t it? Nostalgia is cruel. ... So much real drama in a video game and in such a realistic 3D world… ah the memories.
  • I see why *Black Mesa* was developed and I assume that's the definitive way to play.
  • It's perhaps the biggest and best collection of maps of that description ever assembled, rivalling the likes of Black Mesa or Entropy Zero 2 as a big Source project but with a fraction of the attention.
  • I am happy I played this classic and think it’s quick enough and straightforward enough to merit a pick up by anyone who hasn’t played it yet. ... for a game which is coming up on 27 years old it has aged incredibly well compared to a lo...

I am happy I played this classic and think it’s quick enough and straightforward enough to merit a pick up by anyone who hasn’t played it yet. ... for a game which is coming up on 27 years old it has aged incredibly well compared to a lot its peers (well actually I played the black mesa version not the original but as far as the core mechanics and interactions which stayed the same this is true)

I will say for what it’s worth for a game which is coming up on 27 years old it has aged incredibly well compared to a lot its peers (well actually I played the black mesa version not the original but as far as the core mechanics and interactions which stayed the same this is true)

Honestly, no. I'm waiting for it to be 100% complete like I did for black mesa.

Have you played black mesa? If you want more half life, you should give it a try. Fan remake of the original and it's really good.
