BioShock
Reddit take
Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.
Pros
- I'd say the first two Bioshock games are worth playing. The first has a good story and is very atmospheric.
- It felt a little artsy, very "meta" in a way that I hadn't seen in a game before then (actually, I guess Bioshock kind of hit on the idea of limited player agency, at least implicitly).
- Really, no mention of the love letter to Art Deco that is Bioshock's Rapture?
- I'm no stranger to scrounging for supplies in games. I like Bioshock, Prey, and Metro.
- Bioshock beats this hands down.
Cons
- I somehow have a higher tolerance for System Shock than newer games like BioShock
- One weirdly distracting thing about Bioshock was that your character appears to be about three feet tall. Whenever you come to a door, you’ll notice that the handle is approximately at eye level.
- Obviously, there's some positions that are hard to reflect in a game. (I think BioShock had something to say about that.)
- The first and second I tried but got bored with.
- Worst hacking easily goes to Bioshock. it was widely panned as a black mark on this otherwise praised game, and for good reason. It really distracts, its not fun, and you HAVE to do it as the rewards are too massive.

Bioshock is the best when you play it blind. I didn’t know pretty much anything when I started playing it and it’s one of my favourite games. It’s definitely the most immersive game I’ve played.
Bioshock itself was a total vibe. Shooter gameplay is quite good with a variety of weapons and the plasmid system is just insanely good. The huge story twist and the overall story was just incredible with environmental storytelling being my highlight of the game.
Obviously, there's some positions that are hard to reflect in a game. (I think BioShock had something to say about that.)
