TYGR 300 R still gets recommendation because of $80 lower msrp tho, it's better value 170 vs 250 usd
I do have an open-back Sennheiser (GAME One, based on the 558 or 598) and an open-back Beyer (TYGR 300R, based on DT 880) and the latter wins very convincingly in soundstage and imaging which are the two things you should be looking for in this scenario.
I've never come across a single headphone that doesn't improve at least a little with some EQ and the 300r is one that has some pretty solid gains to clarity because it's way too warm and muddy/hazy as is.

I have been eyeing both the Tygr 300R's and the HD 560s, but am unable to decide between the two, or understand if these are even the best options. I have concerns with both headsets regarding the bass and music quality, as i have heard the bass in the 560s is low, and am not sure what to make of music capabilities from the Tygr 300R.
PC38x and Tygr 300 R are very decent gaming headphones that are based on studio headphones(HD599 and DT880 Pro) and tuned a bit differently.
