Pros

  • I have my eyes on... BEHRINGER PRO VS MINI for a girl.
  • Use a midi controller with your pro VS Mini? That's what I do. It's pretty capable.
  • For synths here are a few good options under 150: UNO synth, stylophone, Korg volca keys or volca FM, any of the behringer mini series Pro VS Mini, CZ-1, UBXa.
  • I love vector synthesis tbh, it’s the most gimmicky thing that isn’t a gimmick at all – the scope for creating evolving sounds in real time in a hands-on way is great (envelopes are fine and everything but this is just easier and it does...
  • You could look at the Behringer PRO VS Mini, I have one and it's nifty 4 voice 4 wave table oscillators, good filter and built in chorus reverb or ensemble. Small controls and can be menu divey thoug, but you can get some good piano...

Cons

  • Using the Behringer Pro VS MINI. I’m starting to build sequences and save them across the keys for longer songs that change in pattern.
  • Your criticism of the mini isn't misplaced. I sold mine for much the same reason.
  • Im not sure it was a great purchase for me. It redeeming quality is the joystick and being a simple vector wavetablr synth. Past the novelty, I rarely use it for recordings but I do use it for travel.
  • the behringer pro is just not very knob per function, suggestions? More hands on is better.
  • The hardware I bought was kneejerk reactions to YouTube videos, only regret at the moment is the pro Vs, but I think I need to give it more attention and it'll be something I like using.

I love vector synthesis tbh, it’s the most gimmicky thing that isn’t a gimmick at all – the scope for creating evolving sounds in real time in a hands-on way is great (envelopes are fine and everything but this is just easier and it doesn’t repeat itself like pre-programmed envelopes). Whilst the implementation here isn’t the most complex, it’s still great, I’m using it blend between 4 versions of the same waveform which are all differing degrees of slightly-out-of-tune to create this subtle detuning chorusing melting kind of effect on the lead part of this track. The filter is ok too, filter / amp / mix 4-stage envelope generators suggest plenty of possibilities and the 120 available waveforms all contribute to making this fairly excellent for the miniscule price point. ... I would rate this synth at 11/10, 12/10 with rice.

I'm struggling to figure out how to combine .syx presets into a single bank to bulk load onto my Behringer Pro VS Mini. ... I want to take specific patches and stitch them into a 32-preset bank to bulk send so I don't have to keep doing so individually (which is a very tedious procedure).
