Reddit take

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

Battlefield 6 is widely regarded by the Reddit community as a successful return to form for the franchise, with many users describing it as the spiritual successor to Battlefield 3 and 4. While it is praised for its "classic" feel and improved mechanics over its predecessor, 2042, it faces criticism regarding its map density, lack of a server browser, and controversial use of AI in marketing and bot-filled matches.

Pros

  • Captures the classic gameplay feel of BF3 and BF4
  • New mechanics like 'drag revive' and first-person 'quick turn' are well-received
  • Strong optimization for older hardware, with reports of playability on 1070ti cards
  • Engineers can carry more rockets (up to 5), improving anti-vehicle gameplay
  • Generally viewed as a superior alternative to recent Call of Duty releases

Cons

  • Launch lacks a functional server browser
  • Controversial bot implementation where bot deaths count against the player but bot kills do not reward them
  • Map design is described as overly dense, leading to chaotic gameplay and frequent deaths from unexpected angles
  • Criticism regarding the use of AI-generated assets in promotional materials

Caveats

  • Performance is inconsistent; while optimized for old cards, some users report sub-60 FPS on high presets with modern setups
  • The 'quick turn' animation is described by some as looking 'inhuman' and needing speed adjustments
  • High player density on detailed maps can make traditional Conquest feel like a Close Quarters mode

Best for

  • Fans of Battlefield 3 and 4 seeking a modern update
  • Players looking for a 'redemption' title after Battlefield 2042
  • Users with older GPUs who still want a performant FPS experience

Avoid if

  • You rely heavily on a server browser for finding matches
  • You find high-density maps and constant multi-directional combat frustrating
  • You are sensitive to the inclusion of bots in multiplayer progression

Battlefield 6 at least felt like a good game. I didn't have nearly the same issues as I did with 2042.

Battlefield 6 even runs at 50-60 fps with high preset, and again my setup should do more

I’m seeing about 15-30% fps gains with my low graphics settings at 1440p in BF6

Seems like hands down the best solution if you have a problem with any game, its mostly solved now but BF6 was known for having a problem thanks to EA and its poor technical solving

Battlefield 6 was a big one, that looks like it’s really grainy and DLSS made it look even worse.

I bought bf6 to try today, it runs OK, but can start to stutter when the action gets heavy.

Most competitive thing i play is Battlefield 6, Arma Reforger, Marvel Rivals and Dota 2, other games aren’t competitive.

60FPS is unplayable in a game like battlefield 6 on mouse and keyboard. You will get stutters, the CPU has horrible 1% and .1% lows.

And For BF6, it was crashing when i change the DLSS option from Balanced to quality ( and i'm still in the menu ) just changing the configuration crashed twice and in the third one i think a memory corruption was happened and the PC restarted, it overwrited my old Settings and the game worked fine till now then but with less frames
