Bath: around 1h15-1h30 direct from Paddington. A lovely city in Somerset you have the Roman baths, abbey, royal crescent, Jane Austen Centre, the river, Mary Shelby’s House of Frankenstein museum
For the UK route: Bath is gorgeous and totally doable as a day trip from London.
If you want a nice day trip I highly recommend Norwich (castle, cathedral, cute ass Paddington statue) and/or the English beachside towns of Cromer/Sheringham(best fish and chips Ive had and local vibe). Both of these are simple train ride away with minimal connections so there's no need to get a car or anything.
We just came back from a week in London - and spent an entire day in Bath. Everyone said it was the highlight of the trip. I myself thought it was gorgeous, and the restaurants divine.

Yeah I was thinking that - somewhere like Bath or Cambridge, a city that is picturesque (as I prefer the idea of city breaks if I do solo travel) and see how I feel.
Windsor is also a good train ride away from the city but very doable, but it would be a lot of stressing and running around to see Bath, Windsor and Stonehenge all in one day.
The countryside was definitely my favorite—little villages, rolling hills, castles, old churches and coastal towns. Everything was just so dreamy! ... #10,11,12 : Bath
